Hi, @bamfpissedoff!
I would be happy to clarify further.
It's important to note that Shopify is not an online store or a marketplace. It's a platform that empowers merchants to create their own unique online platforms and have full control over their businesses, including store design and marketing strategies. We don't actually sell products ourselves, but enable our merchants to do so by hosting their individual platforms.
If you're looking for a shopping destination, we recommend checking out the Shop App. It allows you to browse and search for products and stores all in one place. You'll also have access to features like package tracking, making purchases using Shop Pay, and engaging with brands.
I hope this helps!

Hi, @C_katsas!
Thanks for reaching out in our Community Forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.
The process of purchasing from other Shopify stores is quite straightforward. Generally, you can add items to your cart and proceed through the checkout process by providing your information, selecting a shipping method, and completing the payment. You can explore a list of 50 stores that are featured on our Shopify Blog. Additionally, keep an eye out for stores that offer Shop Pay as a checkout option. This streamlined process makes purchasing from Shopify stores convenient and efficient.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
All the best!

It's not straight forward because it does not show where the stores or merchandise are on the website. All it shows is how to sell. Amazon is straight forward. One simply clicks on the website and types in the item one is looking for. And hundreds of that item shows up. There is no such thing with Shopify. I even asked my 20 year old son to look for items to buy incase I was doing something dumb and he said the same thing. It only has websites to get u to sell.
Yes hats what I was gonna say
Completely agree with you. I created a shop on Shopify but I'm sure no one will buy anything. I still don't know how to do it even if I wanted to buy products from my own store. I am really surprised how can this marketplace survive!

I do not understand why this question cannot be answered simply without all the redirecting. Please show me a link that takes me to a shopify store that I can see. It's a simple request. I'm attempting to create a story, however I have no information how to let others view it.
Hi, @Leskemp and @AMproducts!
Thanks for joining this thread and for sharing your thoughts,
I would like to clarify a few key points. With Shopify, business owners have the ability to build and customize their own online store, selling across various channels such as online, mobile devices, and even in-person through physical stores and pop-up shops. It's important to note that Shopify is not a marketplace where merchants list their products in one place. Instead, we empower merchants to create their own unique platform and have full control over every aspect of their business, including store design and marketing strategies.
However, Shopify does offer built-in features that allow integration with popular marketplaces like Facebook, Instagram, Google, and more, enabling merchants to expand their reach and sell on these platforms. Additionally, we have the highly popular Shop App, which serves as a shopping destination for customers. It provides features such as package tracking, discovering new stores and products, making purchases using Shop Pay, and engaging with brands.
I hope this provides some clarification!

Straight forward my arse. You put Shopify into google and click on the link. and all you get is a website wanting you to create your own shop. There is no where or any links to direct you to the actual shops. I cannot find any way to actually shop on Shopify. This site totally sucks balls, whats even the point.
This is an accepted solution.

In other words Shopify is a just a service to build online stores; it is not a searchable platform for those stores (websites). You are going to have to market your url. They build websites.
Yep, I was confused in the beginning, but Shopify is not an online store like Amazon. You'll have to sign up for Shopify, build your online store then promote your store through other means such as Facebook and any other social media you use. You add links in those social media sites to your online shopify store.
You keep repeating the exact same thing while offering nothing.

To buy from a Shopify store, simply visit the store’s website, browse their products, and add items to your cart. Proceed to checkout, where you’ll enter your shipping information, choose a payment method, and finalize the purchase. Shopify stores are designed with user-friendly interfaces to ensure a smooth shopping experience, often offering multiple payment options like credit cards, PayPal, or local gateways.
