Hi,

How to configure third party emails other than zoho or gmail? I have transferred my domain to shopify now but emails are not working. My third party email hosting services provider asked to add two records for emails working but no luck which are:

Name: Type: Record:
mail.domainname.com. A 135.181.164.29
domainname.com. MX mail.domainname.com

where domainname is our domain which we moved to shopify.

Emails are still not receiving to custom emails hosting server? Secondly, do i need to delete all the DNS settings which i made to third party hosting emails hosting provider server when connect existing domain option to shopify? Your feedback is this regard will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Following are the steps that i performed to configure third party email hosting provider other then zoho or google:

Domains -> Shopify Managed Domains -> Manage -> DNS Settings

Added the following records:

NAME Type Record

  1. mail A ip address
  2. @ MX mail.domainname.com
  3. @ TXT v=spf1 +mx +a +ip4:ip address +ip4:ip address2 +ip4:ip address3 ~all

Right after these settings, issue resolved and emails are in working state. Basically, problem was with synta errors at shopify DNS Settings becuase records criteria is different as compared to cpanel or godaddy etc.
