How to create a physical gift card, with scannable code

Hi there.  We are primarily an in person store, but do use Shopify and have this online.

How do we print physical plastic gift cards we can sell in the store, or activate in the store after sale?  I see lots on how to redeem them, but not as much on how to create them (or codes etc), and then how to send codes to a manufacturer to have them

@RichardW Looking into this, it seems you could just create gift cards manually in Shopify (without associating a customer), and then copy and paste those codes into an excel spreadsheet to send to a manufacturer to make them. Some things to keep in mind:

After you create the gift card, you cannot see the code on the gift card itself, or export the gift card code out in bulk. So, you'll only be able to view the code when you create it (which at that point you'll want to copy over to a spreadsheet for storing it internally).

Hope this helps!

To create physical gift cards with scannable codes in your Shopify store, you can use the 99minds app, as shown in your screenshot. It allows you to generate gift card codes along with barcodes or QR codes. Just set the barcode type, value range, and expiration, then export those codes to share with a printing vendor for plastic card production. These cards can be activated at the point of sale, making them perfect for in-store use while still syncing with your online Shopify setup.
