All things Shopify and commerce
I sell pet products. The products are personalized with the name of the animal (almost always a dog). This field is collected by a product customization app to know what name to record on the product.
I would like to take that field and create one that is indexed for search. In the customer or order file. This way, if someone asks me for a personalized product for "Layka", I can add "Layka" to this custom customer or order field using zapier, for example, and it can be searched.
Also be able to pass it to the CRM. In this case it is easy because that custom product field is sent to Zapier and from there I can export it to the customer file in the CRM, but I would like to have it in Shopify as well and, for example, be able to search for all customers who have a dog named Layka.
One use that I can give it is to send marketing messages with the dog's name, or if the client calls by phone to be able to ask for "Layka", and more.
Thank you.
You can add a tag to order or customer. You can then pull that tag data.
Am I understanding that you're suggesting adding a customer tag for every different dog name?
You could but I would add it to the order, not customer. That way you know which exact order, and the customer will be tied to that order anyways. I may have to revisit this though.
