How to customise order number prefix depending on sales marketplace

As part of our sales plans we are beginning to branch out into selling through marketplaces like Ebay. However currently any order coming through these channels has the same prefix letters as ones through our storefront.

This makes it really hard for us to attribute the sale within our back end stock systems.

Does anyone know if there's a way to change the prefix so for an Ebay sale it is EB etc? Shopify support said they don't have a solution currently but i wasn't sure if anyone had managed to find a workaround.

I have a similar issue from selling through ExpertVoice.  Our warehouse team needs to know which orders are which so they can be properly fulfilled.  Has anyone come up with a solution?!
