How to Customize Order Confirmation Emails for Virtual Card/Donation Purchases and Enable Social Med

Hi everyone,

I have two questions regarding virtual card or donation (SKU-based) purchases on Shopify, and I don’t have any coding knowledge:

1. How can I send a customized order confirmation email specifically for these types of purchases, rather than using the standard order confirmation template?

2. Is there a way to enable customers to easily share their donation or virtual card purchase on social media (e.g., with a one-click "Share on LinkedIn" option) so they can showcase their contribution to their audience?

I'd appreciate any suggestions or app recommendations that don’t require coding skills!

Hi @mols 👋 you have to code the notification templates to have specific logic to send different content , or structure.

Otherwise search the app store though even then there will be some coding involved in transplanting templates from the app into the shopify  admins notification editor.

Most take a cut in fees and monthly costs, and manage the entirety of the donation system with sharing  just being a slapped in subfeature.

Could be done with a custom build of advanced automations apps and metafields or metaobjects to hold entries for each purchaser and published to metaobject webpages.

The closest other parallel might be authentication apps where people buy collectibles and get a link to an online provenance document.

Most apps you'd find are for sharing products/carts before purchase , not for sharing personal details of a specific purchase after, aside from order tracking services/apps. Or are specifically responsible for managing the donation system taking a cut in fees and monthly costs and sharing may just be a subfeature you cannot tailor in any way.
