How to disable buy now button on out of stock product page?

Hi everyone, i need some help.
I have a product page where all 3 variants are out of stock but the buy now button is still enabled/clickable. I would like for it to be disabled when product is out of stock.
On clicking the buy now button, it takes me to the checkout page and says item is sold out and when clicking on checkout it says cart is empty.

It is only happening for one product. the other sold out products have the buy it now button disabled.

I've hidden the sold out button to replace it iwth a notify me button and that is working fine.
What are the changes i can make for the buy now button?
