You can disable the Shop tracking feature under Settings > Checkout in your admin. The option is in the Customer contact section under To receive shipping updates.
Please let me know if you're having any trouble finding these settings.
In the meantime, is there any specific feedback you'd like to share about your customers' experiences with Shop tracking? I can share any thoughts or feature requests with the appropriate teams here so that it can be considered for future updates.
Hi, thanks, this was a "New feature" that I was just made aware of and promptly disabled... one of our customers stated "the SHOP app it takes me to a picture of a sultry person in beige underwear? I declined to go further." ... WTF????
It sounds like your customer might have been seeing recommended products on the home page of the Shop app. The Orders tab on the Shop app will show any available tracking information.
If a customer sees something they either believe is inappropriate or is something they simply don't want to see, they can tap and hold the image and either select 'Report' or 'Not interested'.
I don't mind people seeing info about the shop app on the checkout process / thank you page, however I don't want my customers getting the email advertising the Shop app. It doesn't seem to be configurable, and not all of our products ship - so it is silly when someone orders a download or an on site event and then gets an email inviting them to track shipping status. Is the only option to disable it everywhere?
Do you have an example of what the email looks like?
I took a look under Settings > Notifications in my test store, but didn't see an invitation to download the Shop app in any of the shipping notification templates. You can invite customers to download Shop on the order status page, but as far as email notifications go, I believe this invitation would need to be added manually.
Thanks for sharing this screenshot! I haven't found any settings to disable a notification like this, though it looks like the customer wouldn't receive any others unless they tap the "Download Shop" button to confirm their email.
Customers can simply unsubscribe if they don't wish to receive these notifications. In the meantime, I submitted feedback to our developers to let them know you'd like to disable this email.
