How to display selected varient when multiple selection options are available

Im currently selling posters through Printify and when I upload them I can see all varients on one selection. Ive found this issue particularly hard to deal with considering my varients are papersize and papertype so assigning alttext becomes complicated considering how similar they all look website is https://momentumposters.com/

Hi there, @ColeK! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your variant display situation here! My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!

Thanks for outlining your issue for us! I took a moment to visit your website and checked out how your variants currently appear on your website! Are you able to better define for me your support request? When I click on the 'paper type' variant options new images are generated for me, though I can't quite tell the difference between those images and the ones linked to the other paper types. I also have different images generated when selecting a new size type, as well. Is this functionality not operating as expected? I believe I'm seeing the variant image that I should be based on how the page is behaving, but if you can't provide me with some more context around things I can better identify what it is I need to be looking for here.

hi there, the issue is the gallery flooded with every possible image below. I would like to make it so only the photos for that option are displayedimage.png

Thanks for clarifying your request for me, @ColeK! I do have a potential workaround that may do the trick for you here, but it will depend on the theme you're using, and how 'updated' that theme is!

For some themes, you can select an option to 'hide other variant media after selecting a variant' in order to make it so only images associated with the customer's selected variant are visible! I'm going to outline some steps for you to follow below, and if your theme is new enough, you should be able to toggle this settings!

  • First, login to your Shopify Admin
  • Go to 'Online Store > Themes'
  • From there, select your published theme and select 'Customize'. This will load the Theme Editor.
  • Once in the Theme Editor, use the dropdown menu at the top of the editor to select your product page
  • Once on the product page, find an option called 'Product Information' on the left hand menu. Select that.
  • Scroll down the menu that appears on the left and you should eventually come across a toggle box labelled 'hide other variants media after selecting a variant'. Toggle this setting. Hit Save!
  • Once you've done this, revist one of your product pages and test the functionality to see if it works!

Give these steps a try and let me know if you run into any issues following along with them!

Hi there, thanks for the tip. I did everything as you said but the varients still show. For reference, I am using The theme: Taste 15.0.1

Hi @ColeK,

Thank you for trying that. If that did not work, please contact our support team directly about this. Our team can authenticate you on your account, review your theme settings, and hopefully find a solution for you.
