All things Shopify and commerce
Hello, I have just finished my website and bought a domain. When I made the domain primary, I got the 500 error, and I could not get in there to fix it. How do I fix it?
Hello Kosta8,
Thanks for reaching out to the community!
Error 500 is a temporary glitch or a general server problem, which is from Shopify’s end, and usually, Shopify developers resolve this issue within a few hours. If the issue continues to persist, then I would recommend you do the following:
Hope it helps!

Yes, it makes sense, but how can I change the domain if I can not access the admin panel because of this error?
When I go to "myShopify.com" and log in using my Shopify credentials, this takes me to the admin panel, and again this error 500, I tried it several times and it does not work. I don't know what else to do.
Hi there, @Kosta8
Is this a third party custom domain? If so, have you edited all the DNS settings as per this guide? If so, you then need to wait up to 48 hours for these changes to apply.
During this 48 hour period, you can use your .myshopify.com domain until the custom domain is ready to be the primary domain. Thank you!

No, this is not a third-party custom domain. I bought it yesterday from Shopify website itself, and when I made it primary it gave that 500 error.
