Bottomline, I want a collection of various products that have different colored variants to display the correct color when someone lands on the collection. For example if I have a "purple collection" I want that collection to automatically only show the purple variants of products WITHOUT having the customer to further use the color filter to extract and display the purple products. I created collections for customers to shop by color but when they go to that collection it shows image #1 of the products, instead of showing the "purple" image within those products. They can see all purple images IF they then "filter" by color but that defeats the purpose of creating a "Purple" Collection. Here's what I have. I sell gemstones online. I have some products that have different variants of gemstones (colors to make it easier, ie you could have the purple version of a necklace or brown or red etc.). I have created a variant metafield that identifies the correct gemstone. I've assigned each variant correctly. You can easily use the filter option and it will show the correct gemstone/color perfectly. For example if you want wanted to see all Amethyst(purple) necklaces, then when you're in the necklaces collection and you filter by Gemstone type and select "Amethyst" it will then display all of the variants with Amethyst and display the correct image. But if someone wants to see absolutely everything I have (jewelry, crystals etc) I created a collection called "Amethyst" and although all amethyst products are displaying, it is not displaying the amethyst variant images that are inside some of the products, so visually it's a hodge podge of colors as opposed to being all purple images. Only if the customer further filters by gemstone type and selects Amethyst will it then display all the amethyst/purple images but that defeats the purpose of selecting to enter into the Amethyst (purple) collection to begin with. Help.
