How to Integrate a Streaming App with Shopify?

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for guidance on how to integrate a third-party streaming app with Shopify. I want to add video streaming content on my store to engage customers.

Is there any official way to connect external streaming platforms or apps with Shopify?
Also, are there any apps available in the Shopify App Store that allow  streaming or embedding video content directly on product pages?

I would appreciate any recommendations or best practices from the community.

Thank you!

Hey @mrjames6,

This is Abdullah from EmbedAny. Of course its possible. You can add any streaming service to your Shopify landing pages or even product pages (product descriptions as well) by just pasting the link.

Lets say you want to embed Youtube, Google Drive, Vemeo or anything else, all you need to do is:
- Download EmbedAny app from App Store

- Copy the link of video/livestream/page/form/website/pdf whatever you want

- Paste it on your website and italics (ctrl+i) it.

Thats it. EmbedAny converts it into a live widget that will play your video.

For more information, you can read this blog.

Let me know if you need further help.
Best,
Abdullah

Hi @mrjames6

You have a few options to integrate third-party streaming apps with Shopify:

  1. Embed Video Players – Most streaming platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, or Twitch provide an embed code. You can add this to your product pages or homepage by using Online Store > Themes > Customize or inserting it directly in the HTML/Liquid code.
  2. Shopify Apps for Streaming – Check out apps like Live Shopping & Video Streams by Channelize.io or Tolstoy Shoppable Videos from the Shopify App Store. These allow live or pre-recorded video integration.
  3. Custom Development – If you need a fully interactive streaming experience, a developer can use Shopify’s Liquid, JavaScript, or an iframe to integrate your streaming platform directly.
  4. Shopify Plus (for Advanced Features) – If you're on Shopify Plus, you can use custom scripts and APIs to build deeper integrations with streaming services.

If you're aiming for live shopping experiences, apps like Livescale or Bambuser Live Shopping could also be great options 🙂

Combining Shopify and Streaming

Although it is possible to integrate videos in some way, one cannot link Shopify directly with third-party streaming applications. However, it is possible to embed videos (including streams) by using the following methods:

Theme Editor: Embed codes can be added on the product pages through Online Store > Themes > Customize > Custom HTML; from where one could get into YouTube or Vimeo among other third-party sources.

Product Media: Link YouTube/Vimeo videos in Products > [Product] > Media > Add from URL (best for pre-recorded).

Various Applications in the Shopify App Store

  • Videowise – Shoppable videos from YouTube/Vimeo; great for product pages.
  • EasyVideo – It puts in YouTube/Vimeo/TikTok videos without any problems.
  • ProdVid – Simple YouTube/Vimeo embeds using alt text.
  • SC Video Background – It includes video backgrounds or embeds.

Suggestion

  • Host videos outside your site (e. g., YouTube) to increase loading speed.
  • Ensure that you include a mobile friendly one.
  • Test how long it takes for your page to load

.Position footages strategically (e. g., demos on product pages).
