All things Shopify and commerce
Hello there shopify community, so I have this problem I am on back order and the shippment was supposed to come on 25th and I sold a couple of thousand products. Now my shipment is late and I want to notify my customers that the shippment will be a few days late. How can I do that.
I don't want to send emails individually to all of them. So is there any automated way to achieve this.
Thanks
Hi @Ahmadbunery ,
Thanks for reaching out! I’d love to help.
That’s not the ideal situation, but it’s absolutely not uncommon in ecommerce. It’s amazing that you want to give heads up to your customers, so they know what is happening with their orders. I’m certain they will appreciate it!
The easiest way to notify them is to ship them a mass email. First, you want to create and save a segment (list) of affected customers. You can learn more about the process here in this guide.
Now that you have a list of customers ready, head over to the Marketing section in the admin. Click on the ‘Create campaign’ button and select Shopify Email. There are different email templates available, but you can also select a blank one and arrange it yourself.
Once you have added all the information in the email body, select the newly saved segment as the recipient group.
Hopefully that helps.

Just a reminder that you need to follow the FTC Backorder rules for the notice. Also keep in mind the credit card rules.
