All things Shopify and commerce
Hi All,
I'm about to move my two Jewelry brick & mortar stores from Lightspeed POS to Shopify POS. There are still a lot of issues to overcome, but slowly we are getting there. One of the problems I'm facing is printing jewelry (butterfly) tags. I've been experimenting with different apps, but none really work.
I'm using a Zebra ZD410 label printer with Butterfly labels. Size: 2.20" x 0.50". I have to print barcode, price, name, and SKU. I've tried the Shopify Barcode app and Yanet. Shopify Barcode app can't find my printer. Yanet actually prints something, but the printer spits out 200 labels instead of one. Printer settings are correct.
Ideal, it should be possible to print a label from the product detail page in the Shopify admin. And print all received labels in a purchase order (currently trying Stocky, but I'm not convinced this is the best way to go).
As we have to print a lot of labels daily, it has to be very easy for my staff to do this. Searching for a product in a separate app, and print it from there, is just not possible. As it would take too long.
Anyone has a solution or suggestion here?
Love to hear from you.
Jonas
Hi Jonas,
We also switched from Lightspeed and now use Stocky. The only way to print labels that works for us is Barcode Man.
Good luck with making the switch and I hope this helps.

Hi Noah,
thanks for the app! I'm trying to use Stocky but it lacks so many basic features. I've tried Barcode Man but labels don't come out right. What printer do you use? And which labels?
Love to hear from you.
Jonas
Hi Jonas,
We use a couple of different Dymo printers as well as a Brother. We aren't using the jewelry labels that you want so I don't know if that could be part of the issue. Have you reached out to their support. They were pretty helpful when we had an issue in the past.
We use a couple of different sizes of label and have been able to recreate all of the different layouts that we had in Lightspeed.
Good luck.
Noah
Hi was wondering if you've found the solution yet?
Have you found a solution to this?
We are a jewelry store facing this same nightmare after moving to Shopify. AND we are on a Mac. I'm hoping to try a workaround where I export Shopify inventory to a csv file then map three fields (price, title, barcode) to the same Zebra printer you have because while the Dymo solution via Stocky >might< work the 2-up nature of the Dymo printer for barbells is SO unworkable in real life. We print tags then put them with the right items and then have our staff physically string-n-stick the labels. BUT, unlike the Zebra which prints one label at a time and you can tear them apart, the Dymo marries two labels in one "print" married together and unbearable... so we can't put a label with one necklace and a different label with another necklace so staff knows what goes with what. I'm SO close to bailing out on Shopify for this one reason it's so frustrating.
Have you had any luck finding a workable solution?
