How to remove a vendor from Vendor drop-down list on product set-up page

We have some old unused vendor names in the vendor drop-down list on the product set-up page but I only know how to add a vendor to the list not delete one. Does anyone know how to maintain that drop-down list so that we can remove unused/old vendors from the ever growing list? Thanks.

I was having this same issue and I found a solution that worked for me. I made sure to delete all the products for the vendor that I'm trying to delete. Once all the products are deleted (you may have to wait a few minutes for the system to catch up), at the bottom of the product vendor drop down it says "clear". I clicked on that and refreshed the page. All of the vendors that I was trying to delete from the drop down are no longer there.

I am searching the history of this problem.   Too many updates to the system.  Have been trying to solve this problem for months now.
