How to remove tags from the filter menu completely not just the product?

Hi There, 

I am trying to edit the amount of tags I have on the website, it was originally copied over from an old website and now when you use the filter to search it looks like there are duplicates/some in capitals etc I would like to remove the tags from the filter menu... I have theme context, any ideas? I have the shopify app - but cant see any edit/remove 'tags' I found add tags and thats all...

To remove them completely from the store, you need to edit each product and remove the tag. Additionally, there's an option called 'View all Tags.' Click on it and remove any tags you no longer wish to use 🙂

Thank you Rukhsana - I knew it had to be simple! So tags are literally what is used for filters? I thought they were or seo, ok great - now to work out how to edit the tag to give it a capital letter...

To update the tags' capitalization, you'll need to go through each product that uses the tag you want to change.

Bulk Edit Tags (if many products use the same tag):

-In your Shopify admin, go to Products.

--Use the search bar to find products with the tag you want to change.

-Select the products by checking the boxes.

-Click on Actions > Edit tags.

-Remove the old tag (with the incorrect capitalization) and add the new tag with the correct capitalization.

I have edited all the tags and all the product catergories, as i thought it could be that... but no luck in changing what is turning up in the filter section on the store... it's weird - any ideas what else i can look at?
