All things Shopify and commerce
Most of the items on our website are not physically stocked in our store. When a customer places an order with us, we order it into our store from our supplier and then ship it out the next day once we have received it.
We create a purchase order in our system which shows that there is incoming stock from our supplier in the product.
The issue is that when going through our orders, we cannot see that the product is on order with our supplier. We need to see at a glance the stock information for every item on the order so that we know it's been order. The only was to do this is to open each product individually and check. We usually have around 30 orders at a time sitting there waiting for stock to arrive to it's impossible to go through every order and check this by opening the inventory for every product.
How do we show the inventory information for every product on an order at a glance? So we can quickly flick though the orders and see if the items need to be ordered or are already on a Purchase Order with our supplier.
Hi @nztack ,
Are you have been selling the product without tracking quantity ?
You can use tags to denote whether a product is on order. For instance, add a tag like “On Order” to any product that has a purchase order. You could then filter or sort your products based on these tags in your order views.
Thank you
Thanks for the reply. Yes, our inventory is tracked and goes into negative when an item has sold.
That is how we are currently managing our orders, with tags. However it's very time consuming having to manually add tags to each order. We use Stocky to automatically generate purchase orders so having to go back into Shopify and double handle the order by manually adding an "ordered" tag is taking up far to much of our time.
