All things Shopify and commerce
I've been trying to connect my Godaddy domain to Shopify but it keeps giving me the error" Your domain's CNAME record doesn't point to Shopify" I don't know what CNAME record to change. I have contacted Go Daddy and they said we have to contact Shopify because Shopify will know which CNAME to change. Please help.
Thank you.
Try setting just the A name without the CNAME. So for example:
Type = A
Name= @
Data/Value = 23.227.38.65
TTL (Set to the lowest possible) This controls the time the page will update.
These settings point to Shopify's ip instead. Shopify has a few you can use, this is just the one I use.
Also you didn't specify if you already have this domain pointing to another site or not. If you do not then you wont have anything to 'change' but you will have to add either a new CNAME or A. If you do then you will want to remove that DNS setting pointing to the other site.
Hi, thank you for the response. We bought the domain specifically for the shopify so it isn't connected to any other website. I already changed the A record for sandplussilk.com and it worked but it was also asking to change the CNAME for www.sandplussilk.com
You shouldn't need both. They do the same thing. Looks like you have the site working.
