All things Shopify and commerce
Hi there,
Recently, I've decided to scale up my business and create a new Market inside my Shopify account. Important mentions here:
→ I use Shopify Markets exclusively for personalizing the customer experience based on the country. I changed prices, profit, language and domain from there.
→ The domain is different based on the market. That means that I am not using subfolders, but directly a different domain (such as .de and .fr).
→ I am using Judge.me as my Reviews app.
I used Shopify Translate & Adapt to translate all the content of the store, but the reviews remained in the original language, which makes sense because it's third-party content created through metafields (or at least this is how I believe that Judge.me works).
I am exploring options to have the reviews translated too. I tried Weglot in the past, but they are not able to offer what I need. They offer a Language Switcher that works when you have only 1 domain. In my case, I want to have Language A for Domain A and Language B for Domain B. I am not interested in having information from Domain A inside Language B and vice-versa.
IDEALLY, I will be able to find a way to have the reviews translated for Market B (where I have Domain B). I am open though to any suggestions about how I can have completely translated content and once someone navigates on Domain B, they will see Language B, while navigating to Domain A will make you see Language A.
I set up plenty of things there to make sure that I can collect as many reviews as possible. If possible, I would like to stick to this reviews app, but I am completely opened to any other reviews app as long as they can support my needs and there's no way to have Judge. me reviews translated.
Have you tried contacting Jugde reviews? If they can add a translation? Does the reviews translates if you change the region/country? It should trigger chrome translation. Not sure if there is an app that will be able to translate other apps
Please don't forget to Like and Mark Solution to the post that helped you. Thanks!
Judge Support said they support integration only with Weglot, unfortunately.
The reviews don't change when I go to Domain B - remains the same from Domain A, in language A.
I am still looking for solutions. Any recommendations?
Hi! Still seeking for assistance.
I am still looking for a solution.
Hi, any luck with this? We've recently started using judge.me across 5 shops in 5 regions - it's been working well for reviews, but many reviews in Dutch & French are showing up on our English sites (and vice versa); can't find an easy "translate" option.
Hi, Robbie!
We went for Ali Reviews. They have a great Translation tool that makes things easy.
You can DM me if you face any difficulties and I will be glad to help. Have a nice one, and good luck!
We also are attempting Ali Reviews for multi language review support.
Largely based on this thread to be honest.
Unfortunately we cannot get the reviews to present only in their respective language. As per the original intent of this thread:
"it's been working well for reviews, but many reviews in Dutch & French are showing up on our English sites (and vice versa); can't find an easy "translate" option."
Furthermore, "review translation" it not support by Ali Reviews it seems.
Per: https://support.fireapps.io/en/article/ali-reviews-new-widget-can-i-translate-the-review-content-and...
"At the moment, we do not support to translate the content of the reviews."
They do support a one time (during import) "conversion" of review content from language X to language Y.
However, not multilanguage review management.
Is there a workaround or something that we are perhaps missing @PurplePartner ?
Thanks in advanace.
Strange thing, @fklein!
Ali Reviews worked great for us. We were able to translate the text of the reviews. What their support said?
Their support was straightforward.
"We offer automated translation of reviews to your desired language during import"
"We do not offer, review translation post imports via the App. Please use our partner App Transcy for this".
We are back on with a judge.me and langify solution for now.
Painfully slow and manual, but at least it gives us "a solution".
We-glot unfortunately becomes $300 or $600 per month (or more), with even a modest amount of content.
(ie 20 products, a blog and only 2 languages supported we are already in the $300+ per month price band! Not what we prefer at the moment).
You should try Ali + Transcy - it will be more cost-efficient and automatic.
