All things Shopify and commerce
Thank you in advance for your help. Received a scary email for a non-tech Shopify store owner (me):
We’re sending you this email because one or more apps installed on your Shopify store are making calls to APIs that will be removed soon and will soon be unsupported. These apps must be updated by a developer before April 1, 2023 to continue working normally.
Don't understand most of this verbiage. How can I find out which app(s) will be unsupported? I'm not a developer; can I update or replace these apps? Do I have to use a new theme?
What your developer needs to know
One or more of your custom or private apps have made deprecated API calls in the last 30 days. Support for these versions will be removed on April 1, 2023. Please update the apps listed below to API version 2022-07 or later to ensure they continue to function correctly.

This is an accepted solution.
Got it! In that case you should be able to see this app in your list of installed apps under Settings > Apps along with the option to contact the app developer for assistance. I would check in with them to ensure that the app will be updated in time.

Thank you for sharing those details here. I can understand your concern, and generally speaking these types of notifications are nothing to be concerned about. From what you shared it looks like the app Resource Downloader needs to be updated by the app developer. Your app developer should also be aware of this requirement as well.
If the app is not updated by the date in the email it will no longer work, so this is just a cautionary warning. If this app was developed for you privately and is not listed in the app store you will need to contact the developer who made the app for you to get their assistance in updating it instead.

I am not sure of the function of the app Resource Downloader and what it does for your store. You may be able to replace it with a different app, but I can't be sure. The version of the app itself is what needs to be updated, but that requires the developer to provide an update to the app for that to happen.
Is Resource Downloader something that was built custom for your online store? Or is it an app you downloaded from the Shopify App Store?
