I am looking for a solution that only allows specific customers to buy my product

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to create a promo code (or some type of solution) that allows people to buy where others cannot. 

Details: We are going to start selling soon, and I would like to offer sales to only certain customers for the first week. 

I don't want to password protect the entire site. 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to Shopify so I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd imagine the best way to gate-keep specific products like that would be to have a second login screen that only accepts your promo code.  And then give them access to a different collection of products that isn't displayed on your main products pages.

Great question! I would recommend an app that allows you to control who has access to specific pages on your online store. A popular option is called Locksmith. With this app, you will be able to create unique product pages that are only visible to customers with a specific customer tag (Eg. 'VIP' or 'Early Bird'). That way, the customers you want to be able to make purchases will be able to, while others without that customer tag will not be able to view the special page that you've created for these customers.

Hey, I was close to downloading locksmith though got scared by this agreement, I don't really understand it all to be honest though freaked out that it would have a negative impact on my store. Are you able to help ease my mind?

Under "Discounts", you can offer discounts to specific customers. No app required.

HKJ, except that doesn't gate-keep specific products.  Just give people discounts on ones that everyone could buy, regardless of discount.
