All things Shopify and commerce
Hey guys. I’m new to this so trying to get a better understanding. First off I was wondering if I’m able to put my website that I created with Wordpress on Shopify ? Recently I did a connect existing domain with Shopify thinking if I did this my site that I have would transfer to their server, but a few days later I see that the site I have now is a coming soon and Shopify theme. So now I’m thinking that’s not possible ? Do I have to create a brand new site with shopify to use its features because I really wanted to transfer my old site so I don’t have to create a new one

Hi, @Addel101,
Hank here from Shopify!
Would you be able to share your website URL so that I can take a look and see what the issue might be?
It sounds like you are trying to point a domain to Shopify, but also querying how to transfer your website, so I will list some links that will help you, but of course let me know if you have any further questions!
Firstly, with connecting, or transferring your domain it depends on if you want to move the domain to Shopify so you can manage the DNS settings within the admin (transfer), or if you want to continue to host it on your third-party domain site (connect).
But that is only your domain, you would still need the content within your website. So if you are looking to bring your store from WordPress to Shopify, you would need to migrate your store, don't worry, we have a great guide detailing how this can be done here.
Take a look at those guides I shared, and of course, let me know if you have any further questions that I can assist you further with.
All the best,
Hank

Hi @Addel101 ,
Shopify allows you to use a third-party domain so that you don't have to buy a new one when you move your store from another platform to Shopify. You can either transfer your domain or connect with an existing domain, just follow the attached document instructions.
Then, you may want to transfer all your data from your WordPress site to the new home. The ultimate solution to this would be using the migration tool by LitExtension as it helps all your precious data safely land on the target site automatically and accurately. No technical skill is required and there will be no downtime to your source store.
The migration process is as easy as 3 steps:
1. Set up Source and Target cart
2. Select the entities you want to migrate and additional options
3. Configure the migration
