Hey,

I'm trying to find where can I add privacy policy.

I have checked under the Settings > Policies, but there are only refund policy, terms and conditions and shipping policy.

Also I have checked under Customer privacy, but it is just a redirect to Policies.

You can definitely edit the privacy policy from the main policy settings page.

Admin > Settings > Policies.

It's the 2nd text field listed on this page.

Everywhere where I look for support videos etc., there is indeed displayed a text box for privacy policy.

But in all honesty in my page all available text boxes are:
1. Written return and refund policy

2. Terms of service

3. Shipping policy

4. Contact information

It's just not there.

In that case, you'd want to reach out to Shopify's support team directly (https://help.shopify.com/en). I've never heard of - or encountered - the privacy policy not showing up within the back-end admin, so I really couldn't help further with this, unfortunately.

Hey how are you ? I'm having the exact same problem and I haven't been able to resolve it yet. Did you get any response from the shopify team ?

I had the same problem and was able to resolve it after confirming with Shopify Support, that it's not an issue on their side:

- In Safari, I used an extension called "Hush" that blocks prompts to accept cookies and privacy
invasive tracking. That extension hides the "Privacy Policy" section in Shopify. Once I disabled the extension, I did not have the problem anymore.

- The "Brave" browser seems to have a similar effect, where it hides the "Privacy Policy" section in Shopify.

- The issue did not exist in Chrome for me

Hope this helps.

Had this issue because I was using the Brave browser. I turned "shields off" for that page and it showed up.

I have this exact issue too. I've looked everywhere. The privacy policy editor is not there at all. I had to create a "page" for my new policy, but this isn't ideal since the link that displays at checkout is the built-in privacy policy that resides at domain.com/policies/privacy-policy. Where is the editor?

Just disable adblockers all of them, ABP, Ghostery or others - that solved my issue - immediatelly when I disabled them - it showed up - or try different browser where you do not have any adblocker.

Hi, did you ever get the issue sorted out? I have the same problem and so far, customer service is not able to help me.

Thanks.

Not sure if it's the same issue you're having, but I ran into this because of an ad blocker built into my browser that was hiding that section. As soon as I turned it off, the section showed up correctly on the privacy page.

Hi, there! You can add your store policies by going to Settings > Policies in your Shopify admin. The ability to generate policies depends on your store language, but the fields should still be available for you to type in your own policies. If you're not seeing this please contact our support team through the Help Center here. We can't see your account details here over the Shopify Community, but would be happy to review this with you in more detail if you contact us through the page I shared.

Hi Erin, thanks. As I mentioned in my post, I'm already in touch with your support team but not getting closer to a solution. The field is simply not there.

We're having the exact same issue as the OP.  As they have stated, when you go to the settings it just takes you around in circles.  There isn't an actual option to add the Privacy Policy ANYWHERE!  Some assistance from Shopify with this would be appreciated as I see others are experiencing the same problem which seems to be on the new Dawn 13.0.1 update as I'm not having this problem on my other site which is on an older version of Dawn.

Hi, @hollowpoint!

Thanks for reaching out. I recommend contacting our live support team so we can look into this further, as there's no known reason why this would be happening. Our technical team would need to investigate. To get in touch, please follow these steps:

  1. Head over to the Help Center.
  2. Enter the details of your question into the chat assistant.
  3. Wait for the chat assistant's response and click I still need help.
  4. Follow the prompts to be connected with a Support Advisor.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Had the same issue of being stuck going in circles between the Customer Privacy section and the Policies page, which was missing the Privacy Policy section.

For me, the issue turned out to be my browser. I am using Brave, and it seems to have an ad blocker that removed that section. Turning this off made the Privacy Policy section show up on the Policies page.

Not sure if it's the same issue you're having, but try with a different browser or turn off any ad blockers you have and see if that works.

Just disable all the blockers, ABP, Ghostery and others and it will show up just right.
