All things Shopify and commerce
Hi there,
I need some advice, i deleted my gtm account (google tag manager) and if i am not mistaking the old gtm tag is now on my website. I think the best thing to do is make a new one, but then i have the old one still on my website.
Does anyone can advise me how to delete that so i can start over again? So where can i find that tag in my code?
Ps, i used the google and youtube app, and after that i accidently deleted my gtm account. And i did not find it in the theme.liquid
Best regards,
Bart

Hi,
Thanks for sharing.
I have checked the source file. no GTM found on your theme file. https://prnt.sc/xeJEFvqO1V9f
but google analytics measurement ID found on there. check the screenshot:
you can remove the analytics code from the theme file and configure via GTM.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Kind Regards.
HI Bart,
Thanks for your query.
Could you please share your website URL? I woul love to check the source code.
If you manually insert the code in the website you can check the theme.liquid file.
to check the theme file follow online store>theme>edit code then search for theme.liquid.
Once you are in theme.liquid file check the head section for the GTM script.
IF you did not input the GTM script manually then you have nothing to worry about. you can start to configure tracking with the new GTM container.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions regarding Google Tag Manager configuration.
Kind Regards
Sorry, Ofcourse
I think maybe i am wrong and there is just a analytics code on it...
