All things Shopify and commerce
I need help finding as app that lets me offer a free product when someone subscribes to my email & sms marketing. I am using Avada at the moment and it's not working how i intend because someone would be able to get this free product if their cart reached $50 or more. I want them to only be able to get the free product if they sign up for email & sms marketing.
The simplest way to do this would be to just auto-email them a discount code which gives them the free product. Save yourself the trouble of an app or custom integration.
I like this idea. One thing I forgot to mention was that there's a $50 order minimum to be able to redeem the offer. Would that be a problem?
This should be fine. Look at the options available in the Shopify Discounts section:
This doesn't encourage anyone to purchase other products. Someone could just add $50 worth of the product and then get it all for free.
Hi Ngvillar12,
I completely understand your concern about encouraging customers to add more products, not just redeem the free one. The best approach here is to exclude the free product's price from counting toward the $50 minimum purchase requirement. This way, they still need to spend $50 on other products before getting the free offer.
Here’s how you can implement this using Shopify Flow (a free app by Shopify) and our app, Regios Discounts (4.9 stars, 48 reviews):
Steps:
Since this setup involves a customer tag, even if the discount code leaks, no one can use it unless they actually opted in. Plus, the discount excludes the free product's price from the $50 minimum, ensuring they still have to buy other products.
Here’s a screenshot showing how you can set it up:
Our “Test discounts” page helps you simulate this setup and catch any issues before going live. If you have any questions, just reply here—I’m happy to help!
Best,

@ngvillar12 , I recommend you try our app, Discount Bot. You can set an upper limit to the number of items in the cart that gets the discount with the combination of the minimum purchase rule.
So anyone who has the code can get one free product of your choosing as long as they purchase a minimum of $50 worth of items.
Here's how you would set it up:
Also, please note that if you would like to create unique codes for each customer, you can do that using the "Add bulk codes" link as well so there's no risk of the codes getting leaked (each code can only be used once).
If you have any questions, please reply.
@ngvillar12 , just wanted to add that in case you'd prefer to restrict the discount to customers based on their tags instead, you can do that as well. So you do have some flexibility there:
