I need Shopify NameServers, my domain host only allow configure Nameservers

Dears,

I have a domain within my country extension (.sa), it’s handled by Saudi Network Information Center website. 

Unfortunately in the admin dashboard, there is ONLY nameservers section. 😞

is there any way to have some Nameservers for shopify? Or can i use Godaddy nameservers then redirect it to shopify?

Knowing that i cannot transfer the whole domain there. The .sa extension can only be optained at their website. 

This is a deal breaker

Hey there Jihad,

This is Alex from the Shopify Guru team, happy to assist you today!

At this time Shopify doesn't use Nameservers, only DNS settings. Nameservers allow the domain to be searched publicly by associating a name with an IP, this won't assist with having your domain point to Shopify - only a DNS edit will.

I'd highly recommend that you speak to the support service for your domain provider and inquire about DNS edits, and if it there is truly no domain panel, you'll want to see what options there are for buying and transferring it to a new host that can allow you to do DNS edits, as this will benefit you in the future no matter which platform you choose.

In principle it's possible to purchase DNS service as a separate thing, without transferring a domain.  I use linode.com, which provides this (even for servers they don't host - I use it for my Shopify store, among other things) and they aren't a domain registrar anyway, so transferring the domain is not an issue.  But I think you have to buy other services from them in order to have access to it.  I'm not sure where one might buy only DNS service without anything else.

I used Dreamhost nameservers to host the domain there, then I was able to manage the DNS of the domain from there. Adding both A record and CNAME.

Worked like a charm.

You can use Amazon's Route53 if you want just DNS hosting.

Pls email PKNIC staff with shopify details (contact details on their website) and they will add the cname and a record themselves.

Yes. I just called pknic staff and gave them the details of shopify. They
added it manually and it was done 🙂

They responded in 3-4 days but when they did, they did it in the same day.
Try calling them as I also called them twice. They were slow in responding
but my website is working perfectly since then.
