I think I need a webmaster?

I have had a Shopify store for about 7 years. I can do a tiny bit of HTML and I set up my store by myself initially. However, lately I've been getting emails that I need to switch my fraud app over to the Flow app and I need to switch the Google ads info to pixels or something like that. And I literally have no idea what they are talking about. I mean I see the apps but I don't know how to use them. Basically, I feel like some of the updates are getting a little beyond me.

Is there such a thing as a webmaster who helps people with things like that when they come up? Not like to hire somebody for a $500 project, but someone who just keeps your account updated for a nominal monthly fee?

I went through the experts but they seem more project oriented or for bigger businesses with bigger budgets. Thank you.

Thank you. Those were two separate examples of recent email I had received, not together. I followed your instructions for the fraud filter. The app did not give me the option to move the rules, just to download them as a CSV. So then I went to flow and saw a template that said "Capture payment if order is not high risk" I thought that might be the fraud filter so I turned it on and a message popped up that said, "You may need to turn your payments to manual capture  so flow can manage your payments."  Again, I'm sure that is very simple but I keep feeling lately Like I'm pressing random buttons and crossing my fingers that everything works!  Do you work on other peoples websites for an hourly rate?

Hi @harrlael ,

So long story short, Shopify's Flow is like Zapier. You can build workflows without code with it.

Flow is replacing many app's that used to have bespoke automations, and Shopify's Fraud Filter is being replaced by Flow.

When you open the Fraud Filter app, you should see a button to simply transfer to Flow:

I don't believe that this transfer requires setting up any Google Pixel, that might be a separate task that Shopify is requiring for your analytics reporting or some other app.

But I could be wrong, could you share the notice where you saw that?

Yes that means that those specific rules are able to be automatically migrated by Shopify. There's a guide on how to handle each of the cases here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/fulfillment/managing-orders/protecting-orders/fraud-filter-migrat...

Yes, manually capturing payments needs to be enabled on your Shopify payment settings in order do that. We've written an article on the difference between Manual Payment Capture and Automatic Payment Capture here: https://getverdict.com/blog/how-to-setup-manual-payment-capture-on-shopify
