I want to delete my Shopify account.

I don’t use my Shopify account anymore, so I’d like to delete it. However, after checking multiple posts, it seems that Shopify does not provide this feature.

I was required to enter a username to create this post. If this resulted in another account being created, please delete that account as well.

Yes, Shopify does not provide an immediate "Delete Account" button. However, you can permanently close your Shopify account by following these steps:

Cancel Your Shopify Subscription

Before you can delete your account, you must cancel your Shopify subscription:

1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.
2. Go to Settings > Plan.
3. Click Deactivate store.
4. Choose a reason for closing your store and confirm.
5. Shopify will prompt you to enter your password to finalize the closure.

🛑 Important: This does not immediately delete your account—it just deactivates your store.

Contact Shopify Support to Request Permanent Deletion

Since Shopify does not allow immediate account deletion, you must contact Shopify Support directly:

1. Go to Shopify Support
2. Log in with your Shopify account.
3. Request "Permanent Account Deletion" via:
   • Live Chat
   • Email
   • Phone Support (for Shopify Plus users)

What Happens Next?

• Shopify will confirm your identity.
• After approval, they will schedule your account for deletion.
