I was incorrectly charged an adjustment fee

Hello, I was charged a $104 shipping adjustment fee three months after the package shipped. The label price adjustment was due to the package supposedly being 25lb and 24.7 x 12.9 x 12.4, but this is impossible for my type of product and business.

1. We sell clothing; I would have to ship 12 hoodies in a box to come near the 25lb weight USPS is claiming.

2. The order was only for one hoodie, shirt, and hat.

3. We do not have a single box or poly-mailer that is 24.7 x 12.9 x 12.4

I am assuming there was some sort of error in the scan, maybe two packages where scanned at the same time and I was left with the bill - but I am just guessing as there is hardly any information about this online.

I tried to get an answer from Shopify support but was told to contact USPS. When contacting USPS, I was told I needed an "adjustment fee ID" for them to make a dispute. I then asked Shopify to provide that, as I do not have that information on my order page, and they said they were unable to do so.

I then went to a local USPS branch to see if someone could help me in person, but all the workers were just as clueless about what to do or why it happened.

I don't care about the money at this point; I want to figure out what happened and the solution. It is not proper business practice for either USPS or Shopify to bill my account and then provide absolutely no information on it.

This measurement and adjustment were made by USPS as I can see on the screenshot you have provided. Have you tried to check your >settings >billing >billing history to check if there are any invoice regarding your adjustment fees? You can try to provide that to USPS instead.
