All things Shopify and commerce
I've recently set up a Shopify store and have just received a notification from Shopify that in order to keep receiving payments, I need to upload a valid form of ID. For safety reasons I can't use my legal name anywhere it can be viewed by the public so I use my chosen name instead, which I've gone by for a few years now.
I'm concerned that if I upload a photo ID with my birth name that I'll either have to use that name or shut down my shop when it's barely been open a month. Is there any way around this?
The bank account connected with my Shopify is also in my birth name, but obviously this isn't public info

To verify an individual on a Shopify Payments account, two separate documents might be required:
I recommend getting in touch with our internal support team via the Shopify Help Center to discuss any account-specific or sensitive information regarding your store. Our internal team will be best positioned to continue assisting you. Any non-account-related questions you have, I'll be happy to answer them here.
I'll share the steps below to create a support request:
I hope this helps!
