All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
I am working on a site that has the Turbo theme installed. I will need to make text edits, add new products, replace images, etc. and I am not sure if I do this (only) within the theme or if I can (also) make changes within Shopify itself, and not enter into the theme editor? Thanks.

Hi,
You can absolutely make text edits, add new products, and replace images without needing to enter the theme editor. Here’s how:
Text Edits (Product Descriptions, Collection Names, etc.) – You can edit these directly in Shopify under Products or Collections without touching the Turbo theme. For general site text, go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit Default Theme Content to modify built-in text fields.
Adding New Products – Simply navigate to Products > Add Product in Shopify’s admin panel. The Turbo theme will automatically display them based on your collection settings.
Replacing Images (Products, Banners, and Pages) –
Product Images: Change them under Products in Shopify.
Homepage or Other Banners: Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize, where Turbo’s theme settings allow you to swap images without coding.
Editing Theme-Specific Content – Some sections (e.g., homepage layouts, specific Turbo features like mega menus, quick shop, or custom blocks) require the theme editor: Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Bottom Line: Most standard edits can be done directly in Shopify. Use the theme editor mainly for layout changes, section customization, or Turbo-specific settings.
