Inconsistent Storefront API Checkout behaviour

Hi there! I'm working on building a headless checkout using storefront checkout APIs. I'm running into a few issues, I'm not sure if it is normal behavior but every now and then whenever I run mutations on a specific checkout ID such as a shipping address update, or apply shipping rate; that specific checkout ID on querying returns null. Although the checkout ID is correct (similar to the web URL).
