All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
Our business model for international orders (from an American based company) is to gather items in the order, get shipping and billing information then pause the order to generate a shipping quote. Then we contact the customer directly with the quote and either move forward and complete the order, if customer approves, or cancel it, if customer does not approve.
Our challenge without pausing the order for a shipping quote on Shopify is that the calculated international shipping rate is much higher ($500+ sometimes) than what we calculate and provide in a shipping quote. I don't want to overcharge my international customer this much.
So, is there a way to put a Shopify order in a paused state, once an international customer completes their order so we can follow this workflow?
I am having similar problem to yours, did you find a viable solution?
Hey @YR1 did you find a solution for this? We are launching an integration that would calculate large item/feight shipping to 45 countries instantly. This includes not just the shipping but also duty and taxes. The rates and tax amounts are guaranteed and very competitive. You will not need to pause the order or overquote with such buffers.
