All things Shopify and commerce
I am setting up a very first and new e-commerce site on Shopify. As a test of uploading my table of products to the "csv" foramt, I manually uploaded a product from my Admin and I exported said product to have a good csv template with good titles. I added to this template a last column "Collection" and I put a name of collection where I wanted to see this product. What is surprising for several hours I can not re-upload the same file. I keep getting the error "Invalid CSV Header: Missing headers: Title.". I've applied all the advice from Shopify Help, Forums, and other specialized sites but I still don't understand why I'm getting this error. I also made sure that there is no white space after each title in the csv file. I specify that the shop on which I work is configured for stock management from several localities. This is the reason why the "Variant Inventory Qty" Column is missing from the attached template. Please take a careful look at the attached file to help me.

Hello,
It looks like you have your columns delimited by a semicolon. Try using columns instead and re-uploading. I've attached a template you should be able to use. For what it's worth, I get the same error when trying to upload your file into my test store. Hope it works for you. Thanks

*Try using commas
Follow this, it will work, it's better
I am having this same problem with customers. I have downloaded the template, updated all of my customers and when trying to import I get the following error: Invalid CSV Header: Missing Headers: Email
I am using open office and a csv file type. Does it not work with open office?
Hi,
The real problem was due to the fact that I was using the csv files generated by Microsoft Excel since I am a very old user of PRESTASHOP which is very compatible with Excel. But Excel in these cvs files uses the semicolon as a separator (including under "csv Dos"). What remained even more annoying was the fact that when the csv file was created under google sheets by download and then saved under a directory (excel csv) other than the "Downloads" where Google Sheets initially housed it, Google's comma separators sheet were automatically replaced once again by semicolons when uploading to the shopify store from the Admin generating errors. After more than 10 hours of research I finally found the trick. Unfortunately in the Shopify help it is not explained anywhere. My advice below could help other members: "To upload a csv (or other) product file to Shopify, you should take it directly from the "Downloads" file where Google Sheet has placed it after its transformation into "csv" without save it in another directory under Microsoft Excel was it in csv format I don't know what will happen with other spreadsheets or text editors.
Thank you all
Thanks for this information. It really helped me a lot. I had around 5000 products that I need to change the SEO Titles and when I exported the products from Shopify it was sent to me in two separate files. The first file I managed to edit, save as csv and import back to Shopify without any issues from Microsoft Excel. When I tried it with the second file I kept getting illegal quoting on line 3 and missing csv headers error messages. I searched high and low for a solution and I'm so grateful to have come across your post.
You are changing lives man! thanks again, this is really appreciated.
