Is Designslic Media a recognized Shopify partner in the UK?

I was contacted by Designslic Media about optimization and copywriting. Does anyone know anything about this company in the UK? I did some research and found that some of their pages are flagged with being unsecure. Are they a shopify partner? Does anyone know?

I couldn't tell you if they are a Shopify partner or not.  However, the sales person that contacted me came off as rude and condescending, with no interest in my business other than as an opportunity to make money from me.  I was clear that I did not appreciate the way they came across, and that, based on that, I was not interested in working with their company.  Rather than just taking no for an answer, or simply politely saying something like "please keep us in mind if you change your mind in the future," I got another extremely long hard sales pitch.  Despite all the (extremely low-resolution) "screen shots" of supposed reviews they sent me, I can't really find any ACTUAL information about them.  I have no intention of doing business with a company that comes across like a sketchy used car salesman.  That said, your mileage may vary.

they might have a company registered in the UK but it is a Dormant with no accounts history even through they have been "Trading" since 2021, have a Registered office and are charging for a service, where is the money they are charging going and why are a UK company charging in $ and not £.

on these points along something screams dodge.

Ive just recieved an email enquiry through my website from oliviahelene2124@hushesmail.com agency: www.designslic.co.uk . the message was " Hey, anyone here?" very unprofessional so i matched the tone and wrote Yes Im Here. 26/5/2024 I got a response today Sorry for my late response. I'm glad you're here.

I came across your website, when working with one of our clients and discovered some worrying holes – such as section overlaps, copywriting, and design mistakes - Your store can get way better results if you can fix this. Also, I've noticed your site is not optimized based on your audience's interests - which I believe is causing your business to be missing out on a lot of quality traffic and sales.

We have experience over 4 years of optimizing Shopify Stores for better conversion. I have added some screenshots of our previous client's feedback; I hope you will check that.

To see what we can do for you, visit our agency: www.designslic.co.uk and check our previous client's resultsfrom the Case study section.I'd love to tell you about our optimization strategy and working process.

Can I? And from here I started my own research into the company designslic with no or little creditbility whatsoever. The testimonal tyre screen shots that where attached to the email had no contact information, so easily created or copied and pasted. Its hard enough in business these days without scammers trying to pose as shopify partners and does shopify not control or assist its stores to get the help they require, ive found the actually recommended shopify store help are hard to engage for a reasonable price for the work. dazed and confused head down arse up working, Cheers Brett Jeep City

So glad I looked it up here! I read that all of you guys get the same approach through the mail. Nice copy/paste they did.
The price was nice for the amount of work they offer. Especially the platinum one with the lifetime support.
Nice to find someone with actual experience with them. To find out that the encounter is not positive, so I can keep my hardworking money in my pocket. Sorry for my bad english ( dutchman over here)

I am very glad I did some research and came across this forum. I got the exact same email sent to me. It looks like they copy and pasted even 'Hey, anyone here?'. I still replied professionally anyway. Everyone reading this, please always remember to do your own research before paying for anything.

I got the exact E- Mail from a Sarah. It also started with "Hey! Anyone here?"

Same! I have already been screwed over by another company (long story). I replied to Sarah with a list of questions because I was burnt and my trust factor is gone. She or whoever relied to my email with the information that was pretty convincing. I stumbled here as I was researching them and glad I did. Thanks!!

Yep, same for me too, except my contact was from "Rosie" starting off with "Hey there anyone here"

I usually delete but something made me dig a little deeper.

According to Companies House they are a UK company, not traded since 2021 and almost struck off in May.

I emailed back but they replied saying they were actually a US company (so why the UK registration/domain/address etc etc etc?)

Anyway it was straight onto the hard sell. Lots of glowing reviews and screenshots of customers sales going through the roof... providing you pay them.

One screenshot showed sales going from average $4k per month to $120k... really? Has anyone actually thought about what it would take to ramp up to that amount of sales in a short time. I'm sure you'd need extra staff for packing, customer care, space for stock and what about all the cash to buy the stock in the first place?

Personally I'm not really sure about all of this "Organic SEO" stuff, we get approached daily with emails promising this sort of thing. You really have got to have the right products at the right price in the first place. We're already quite high on the Google search terms for some of our products anyway and that's just through hard work!

I'd love to speak to someone who's actually paid someone to do all this and what they actually got out of it, but funnily enough I've never met anyone.

I believe that I could use a little help as I am not even sure I am 100% correctly setup from the fiasco with another company. I don't mean this to sound wrong, but...............where are the US companies with legit US employees?

It's the same thing with me! I was contacted by the same person, Evelyn Rosie, with the same bunch of screenshots.

Thank you so much for the input, I was about to fall into the trap!

We got the EXACT same message from them - word-for-word. I had a conversation with them ONLY because their email came from a "company" email address NOT gmail.com. That said, I agree that their initial contact through our web store's Contact Us page ("Need to speak to someone") was intentionally vague and unprofessional, which I personally equate with shady and untrustworthy. If you are a business trying to solicit your services, be up front about it - if you have to hide behind vagueness then you are probably not legit. We get a lot of such inquiries and I will sometimes lead them on a bit: 1) for fun, and 2) I sometimes get some feedback that is actually of value, LOL.

Thank you for posing this question. I was off-put by the brazen email but I know I need some help. You would think that if they truly had the capability to market effectively, and new their audience, and in a way I think we all want our businesses to be seen, they would stop using cookie cutter emails and be more genuine and authentic. I almost scheduled an appointment to talk to them, but I do not want to be pressured and want a reputable company that understands people. Thanks again, everyone, for the valuable feed-back!

Well, they are consistant.  I just got the same email.  I'm so glad I checked here before diving in.  I definitely need help and their package deal seemed perfect, but the low res, copy/past feedback posted was ridiculous for a company that is in this line of work.  I'll keep looking.  Thanks to everyone for the heads up.

To Whom It May Concern,

I strongly advise against using the services of DesignSlic. My experience with this company has been disappointing and unproductive. While they may be capable of creating visually appealing websites, this can easily be achieved through other means, such as user-friendly apps or self-guided platforms, at a fraction of the cost.

Unfortunately, the services provided did not meet my expectations in terms of value, delivery, or professionalism. In my opinion, their involvement in your website may lead to unnecessary expenses and frustration, as they do not seem to deliver on their promises.

If you’re considering working with DesignSlic, I recommend taking the time to explore other options or even managing your website independently. It will likely save you money and provide greater satisfaction.

Best regards,

Marc Harte

Tone deaf spammed us through our contact form, through different email addresses don't waste your time. Tried politely telling them not interested then they just regurgitate the same nonsense. And now a spamming email from them still shows up every 2 days. We flat out said they are guaranteed to never do business with us then again nonsense sales pitch and let's do it.

Avoid like the plague!

I was recently contacted by a company called Designslic Media (supposedly UK-based), offering optimisation and copywriting services for my Shopify site. The email I received was clearly automated, filled with generic criticism about “design mistakes” and “section overlaps” without any real understanding of who I am or what my site is for.

I run a private practice in psychology, and my website is intentionally minimal to protect the confidentiality and safety of my clients. Despite this, they made sweeping, inaccurate claims about how my site is “underperforming” and needs improvement — without any professional engagement or context. Frankly, it was offensive and showed a complete lack of due diligence.

I did some research on their site and noticed that some pages are flagged as unsecure, which is concerning in itself. I couldn’t find any evidence that they are a verified Shopify Partner, and there’s little transparency around their business practices.

What I usually do is check the end of their e-mail.  If it has an ending such as "...@gmail," or, anything else other than "@shopify," then, it's not from Shopify.  Some of their e-mails can be quite demanding and believable, but, don't fall for it.  I usually forward those e-mails to Shopify for enforcement, at, phishing@shopify.com
