Hi on the community.I have a question pls.Is the google merchant center good for dropshippers?Because i have heard if the google finds out you are dropshipper then they suspend your account.Thanks

Dropshipping is allowed on Google Merchant Center.

 

The reason most merchants get suspended is due to poor website setup, low trust.

 

For example poor website setup, having nothing original, and everything copied from other sites.

 

For example low trust, having no real reviews from sales made on your website.

Whatever Google Merch Center's new policy is, it would benefit them to communicate that to Shopify store owners. A 'google' search indicates that dropshipping is not allowed.

 

Experience with Google merch Center is a hamster wheel of finger pointing between customer service, the 'extended' support team, google ads, and back again. Meanwhile direct questions are met with the generic cut and paste that makes a person wonder if google merch is starting a new cyber show of reality-nonsense. (Watch the shopify store owner lose it.)

 

I've been working with Google Merch/Ads for over a month. The only lost trust i have now is in Google period. But hey, this is 2024 and we're talking about the modern equivalent of Ma Bell.

Drop shipping used to be prohibited, and this was 2 to 3 years ago. So, the information you read will be outdated or not updated at all.

Even I, indicated years ago, it was not allowed, as that was the policy. That is no longer the case.

 

The sad thing is that these big companies, just don't want to be helpful, for small business owners, even I, don't get great support. I have to go to great lengths to just get support. Even then, I usually find alternative solution to the problem. And that is what I have learned over the last 5 years. Due to poor support, it is faster to find alternative solutions to the problem, albeit not perfect, is the only way to fix client issues faster.

 

Ow, I get frustrated a lot with support. It's my wife who calms me down; she is my zen! Her way of thinking is more relaxed, mine is more ones and zeros.

husband of 37 years should have a halo, probably like your Mrs. LoL.

Thanks for responding. I've been on the rails for a month plus with Google
Merchant. The worst part? Some reps/techs tease you with a possible
solution, as in one, only to retrench into it 'could' be any number of the
following generalities.

One has to wonder if they have a deal with some pro-coaches to prime the
engine. Like a self-licking ice cream cone. Or judges remanding folks to
rehab when they own the rehab. Okay, now I'm officially off the rails.

Have a GREAT day/evening. Give your wife a high five from me. We need more

It's great to hear you have a lovely partner as well!

 

Google support is not allowed to share how to fix policy violation, as that is there policy since 2020 now. So they do try to help, but they have to stop at a certain point, as they are not allowed from higher up to share more specifics.

Yes, Emmanuel, I have been blessed with *necessary* support. Totally
necessary. LoL. Thanks for writing back.

I just had my final exchange with Google Merchant Center, informing them
that I have no desire to do business with them. Not that they'll care, but
c'est la vie.

I'd never subject my customers to such a vacuous sham of *customer
support *conducted
in good faith. Talk about gaslighting. The projection of GMC's own
misrepresentation onto customers such as myself would be laughable if it
wasn't such a ubiquitous issue.

This revelation is quite valuable, however. I'm no fan of any group that
presumes to make money off of another whilst treating said supplier as
undeserving of basic facts. Reminds me too much of elitist politicos who
insist that one must agree to terms before knowing what terms are.

GMC conducts themselves like a club, not a business when they refuse
specifics. This attitude facilitates discrimination based on whims, not
policy. That same whim leaves GMC customer service agents hogtied, as they
are obviously not allowed to share this new policy of withholding with
their customers. (I'd quit if I worked for GMC as I have done with other
agencies who have chosen to conduct themselves in this fashion.)

This *divine* right of would-be-kings taking another form must be opposed
whenever possible. But once again, I have steady support, so it's far
easier for me.

I agree with you completely, I hope you find success via other channels, consider looking into Microsoft Ads.

Thank you so much. The discovery of like minds gives me hope for a better,
more egalitarian future. (Or at least better masks. LoL.)

I'll try Microsoft ads. I've already signed up, drawn by their $500 ad
credit promo. Not that I'll be investing the requisite $500 to get it.
Still, we'll see what comes with Microsoft.
