Hi guys,

I'm trying to have all my costs visible within my database, but importing Shopify's billing information is in USA, which is incredibly inconvenenient for me as a UK/GBP business! This means I have to also review my bank statement and also take in any currency conversion fees into account too!

Is it possible to get Shopify to bill me in GBP?

Shopify only charges in USD as USD is a universally known currency. Our teams are actively looking into charging bills in local currencies; however, I do not have a timeframe on if, or when this feature will be launched. If we are able to launch this for your region then we will make you aware either through email or your admin.

GBP and EUR are "universally known".

"Universally known" doesn't mean anything, I wish they'd stop using that term as though the US is the only civilised country in the world.

Shopify is a US company and don't want to take the FX risk of having customers in different jurisdictions. They're also publicly listed so won't be changing that policy at any point in the near future. Sometimes it's best to accept the facts and move on!
