is it safe to use subdomain for wordpress blog?

I have a shopify shop called beautifulshoes.com for example.

I acquired a wordpress blog with lots of articles. disregarding of the seo downranking that i get from changing the domain:

can i use blog.beautifulshoes.com and direct that to my wordpress blog? does that work without a problem?

Yes, hosting WordPress on a subdomain is safe and will not affect your Shopify store.
