On two stores that I manage, neither show the reCaptcha logo.
Does this mean that reCaptcha is not working?
Having some spam issues on both stores, that I'd like to knock down, if possible.
Both stores have reCaptcha enabled via Online Store -> Preferences.
Additionally, if reCaptcha is enabled and working, does it fight spam with Newsletter Signups as well as contact forms?

Can you mention your store's URL
The store that is having the problem is:
nordstrandaudio.com
It is running Turbo from Out of the Sandbox. They have told me it is a Shopify issue, not a theme issue.

I would ask them what is the specific issue, if they know, then share that here.
My guess is that there is some code hiding the recaptcha badge. With Recaptcha v3, you don't need to click the box, it functions without user interaction.
Another thing to check is your recaptcha account, see if you have stats available for your site: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/
No solution at this point. Just kicking the can be the two parties that could help on this:
The theme developer said it is a Shopify issue.
Shopify has said it is a theme issue.
I would ask both what is the specific issue, then share that here.
Step 1 is identifying the problem.
Same for me. Been like this for years!
Why is there no place to put in my captcha API?? How could I possibly see stats about the captcha if google doesn't even know that I am trying to use one? Why is this so complicated to figure out? Those stupid check marks at the bottom of the preferences page are not doing anything.

im having a similar issue. when clients try to log in to check out the recaptcha doesnt load correctly and they are unable to get passed the page to log in and pay. screenshot below. please advise how we can fix this. www.greenbutler.co.za
message reads "to continue, let us know you are not a robot". there is then a submit button but no option to tick the recaptcha for proof.

I'm still having the exact same issue in 2024. Here is a screen shot of the problem. I just cannot get past the submit because there is no recaptcha loaded.
