Is anyone else having issues with extreme lag while trying to navigate your admin pages with Safari? It's almost unusable. Sometimes having to wait 20 - 30 seconds for everything to load before I can click into anything. Some of the drop down menus also have extreme lag. I know it's not my connection, because everything works fine on Chrome.

Hi everyone! Thank you to all who shared feedback on this and submitted reports of this being an issue. I wanted to confirm that our developers are aware that this is a problem some of our merchants are facing and are actively working towards a resolution.
As many of you have most likely done already as a work around, you should be able to use an alternative browser or you can also make the safari browser window narrow so that there is a horizontal scrolling bar when viewing admin pages with columns and rows (customers, orders, products).
I'll update this thread once I can confirm that this issue has been resolved.

I should probably add that before coming on here, I had a long chat with a Shopify support bod about this and when he asked why I wouldn't just switch to Chrome instead, I listed all my reservations, the main one being Google's approach to privacy and another being 'because Safari is the default browser for Macintosh so I shouldn't have to...', which he 'took on board' but I've had no follow up since so I assume I just got filed under 'stubborn'!
The problem hasn't been fixed yet and I am out of ideas what to do on my end. I don#t want to use Chrome as a fix. I re-tweeted Twig's tweet, tagging the Shopify Customer Support in it. I really hope they see the urgency in fixing this, maybe together with Apple. The lack of improvement on this issue doesn't make Shopify look good. Under these circumstances I am not able to recommend it to other merchants.
Same issue here. Ever since last update. You cannot use it. I have to use Firefox. Shopify needs to acknowledge the issue and give an estimate for a fix.
Same issue. The @Shopify admin interface is no longer economically viable due to its loading problems. This problem is a severe spanner in the works. Researching other e-commerce solutions now because productivity has been slashed due to this bug.
+1 for me. Shopify has been painful to use for months on end now. I've been with Shopify a long time, but I've reached the point where spending all this extra time each day just waiting for the order page to load, waiting for the product page to load, waiting for individual order pages to load, etc., just isn't worth it. And prime shopping season is coming up. This will be extremely frustrating if a fix isn't applied.
Ever since their Summer 2022 revamp/new features. It's made Safari unusable in admin.
I'm another MAC user currently dealing with slowness, though it appears to mostly be confined to the inventory pages. I also don't want to switch to Chrome, as I really shouldn't need to. Would rather switch to another website provider...

It's partially solved so far. The products page loads quickly, like it should. But the orders page still loads very slowly.
I don't even know if it's partially any better 😕 I like using safari for security reason and I really hope this gets fixed soon!
Hi Shay, thanks for the update. I was one of the first ones to respond to OCMike since I was battling this issue for over a month which occurred directly after Shopify pushed the "new" interface in June. I am running Safari version 16.0 on Monterrey 12.6 to test and it has improved. Not as punchy as before but after caching the product page it reloads very quick--I run a very optimized backend with +80 products with multiple variants. Grateful for the fix, however I am disappointed that it took over two months for Shopify to acknowledge the problem. I don't mean to "fix" the problem but to assure their customers that they knew about it.
Actually still getting a lot of lag on other parts of the admin site. Products page loads faster, but it glitches a lot while scrolling. Inventory page also glitches while scrolling. Orders page still loads very slowly. When I select a group of products to bulk edit, it loads slowly also. Pretty much every page that deals with products or orders.
I’m still having issues with admin page. At first it seemed like it was working better. However when I jump to another page the lag happened again
Hi Shay, when can we expect this to be fixed? It's been happening for months now and safari is my browser of choice so I do not want to use another browser. Every other site is fast as well as the front end of the Shopify store but the Shopify back-end is deadly slow and really kills the work flow.
Please get back to us.
Thank you

I'm still experiencing extreme lag when attempting to use Shopify on Safari.
I need to deal with the perfomance issue since 2,5 months now. I do not see any improvement unfortunately. I tried changing browsers from Chrome and Safari, Firefox but no change. What would you advise please?
Hello, are there any updates on when this will be fixed? Still super slow with lots of 500 errors when using Safari.
Hi @John24
The issue originally referenced in this thread was resolved some time ago. If you are experiencing any issues accessing your store admin please reach out to our authenticated support to report this.
If possible, please also provide full screen screenshots of the error message you are seeing and let us know if you are able to replicate this issue in any other browsers.
Please also ensure that your Safari browser is fully up to date. If you are using a Mac the current version should be 16.6. Shopify only supports the last 2 major releases of an operating system or browser, so if you are using a version of Safari that is 13 or lower, it is not compatible with the Shopify platform.

Also having extreme slow product loading in Admin, daily use in searching products is a real problem. Never had any issues before. Using Safari as Browser on IPad.
How long before this is fixed? I’ve reported to Fox Business news this entire thread. A news story is coming.
I'm glad it's not just me (despite being sad it's not just me!). Very very bad lag, especially when loading tabs in admin on the product page in Safari.
This still seems to be an issue.
