Is Shopify enabling scamming merchants and how can we stop it?

Shopify Mission Statement “Enable Scamming Merchants”

How it works - give scammers a platform to set up dodgy stores, give them 30 days to scam as much money as they can, before they close their store and everything is deleted and Shopify gives them the assurance they’ll do nothing to help the customer.
How much do they pay you Shopify for the privilege?
How is such a platform able to exist and how is there not more vetting done and certain information stored that just may assist a customer to report it to someone like Fair Trading that will at least try to help?

Hi @Made_of_lace

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Shopify does not allow and tolerate this kind of behaviors. Shopify's mission is to make commerce better for everyone. Kindly report this discovery to Shopify support team or advisors so, they can take necessary actions.

Hi @SealSubs-Roan thank you for your response; unfortunately, this post comes after the frustration of reporting directly to Shopify who do not have a single course of action or support for customers in this situation (other than to suggest talking to your bank). In a world where scammers are growing exponentially to genuine people, if shoppers are at least aware of the very real risk of being scammed on here with zero recourse, the buyer beware may just help someone...
