Hi, @MJCclean!

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.

That’s great to hear, starting a home cleaning business is possible with Shopify. You can use this platform to collect payments, schedule cleanings, market your business, and more. You will essentially be able to list your service as a product, and allow your customers to complete payment and select an available time slot. Pagefly has an excellent guide that will cover the basis of getting your store ready. You can also check out a few stories from our merchants that are currently selling services with Shopify!

You can also use various methods to help drive traffic to your shop. For instance, you can run social media advertisements through Facebook, Instagram and Google. These platforms allow you to curate highly targeted ad campaigns directly to your audience. For more information on this, along with a variety of marketing campaign ideas, check out our Shopify Blog here

If you have any other questions, feel free to follow up and let me know! How are you currently offering your services?

Thanks for the great response and ideas Mac. We haven’t opened our doors yet as a business. My girlfriend is employed by another company. She aspires to go on her own as soon as I get some business cards for her. She has some contacts and people willing to join us, with some potential clients already established. While searching for business cards I realized it may be a good idea to have a website. I’ve never started a website before so this would be totally new for me. We plan to get started asap!

I would say shopify is overkill for a starting business, I disagree with the staff if your not selling a physical item or digital. A normal HTML website would work perfect. you can use Shopify POS system when booking appointments  and a app/website called calendly which is free

While primarily known for e-commerce, Shopify is versatile and can be adapted to service-based businesses like home cleaning. Tough you might need additional apps or integrations to handle scheduling, booking, and route optimization, platforms like Aroundwire can streamline these processes. With Aroundwire, you can easily manage cleaning subcontractor jobs, optimize routes, and ensure efficient service delivery, making Shopify a powerful tool for scaling your cleaning business.

Yes, but Shopify plans can be more expensive than alternatives specifically built for service businesses, especially if you don't need advanced e-commerce features.
