All things Shopify and commerce
Is Shopify payment available in South Korea?
Shopify supports all the popular payment methods in South Korea :
Stripe
Credit & Debit cards
Google Pay
Apple Pay
Are these options included with Shopify payment in South Korea or just the third party providers?
In either cases, please let me know the charges for these options with Shopify payment or if its not available, the charges for third-party provider. I work at an e-commerce store based in South Korea to sell for the customers in U.S and Canada.
Currently, we are using PayPal but it is difficult to cater all users efficiently
If Shopify payment is not available in South Korea, which is the best third-party provider which charges the least and most efficient?

Hello, @Hypercape1
A full list of all payment gateways available for South Korea can be seen here by typing "South Korea" into the country search bar here.
Shopify payments is not available in South Korea currently, but the list linked above shows what you can use via a third party gateway.
Charges will vary depending on the gateway you choose - you can see the charges Shopify applies for third party transactions here. Thank you!

Thank you for the response to my previous question. I was wondering if you can help regarding the difficulty for our end customers. The third-party available payment gateway does not seem to accommodate our customers from United States, Canada, and other countries that are unfamiliar with foreign payment gateway. Currently we are using PayPal, however it proves to be time and cost inefficient, we are wondering what other method or possibilities can we approach to fix this issue.
What payment provider are yu using currently or yu still integrating your payments with Paypal
Hi, I've tried to set up my payment provider using Stripe. But it seems like Stripe only accommodate US citizens by the looks of the Sign up page. How can Korean sellers who resides in Koera (like myself), set up a payment provider? To targer the US audience? Do you have any recommendations? I tried to use Adyen, Airwallex, Useepay, but they don't seem like they provide services for Korean citizens who has their business setup in Korea.
Thanks for the info. It seems like they provide their services at a cost of 250, 450, 750 USD. Is this a only and necessary process to reach the US audiences? This is a lot of money to spend.
First you need a Stripe US account, if you have it, with this solution you can accept South Korean payment methods supported by your your Stripe account.
We have the same problem all the payment gateways were not suitable one to our business for example we were using the Paymentwall stand there were so many hidden charges and delays in payments that we decided to just stop that. The fact was there were keeping a portion of the payment for months in a couple of stage that at the end we couldn't understand what has happened pulse they keep the last payment always because they said we have to make sure you will continue to sell. For us that we are dealing with expensive item sales its like not possible.
I am wondering if you could find a solution to your problem. We are also a Korean company wants to sell globally and collect payments.
The solution suggested here is a Stripe-based solution, so payments come to your own Stripe account and only Stripe collects Stripe commissions(processing fees) from these payments (no additional or hidden commissions).
Stripe doesn't work in Korea and in order to use stripe we need to open an entity in a country that stripe works

Check this article and solution. The only solution is via having a Stripe US account.
