Is there a way to configure the static page Rich text Editor?
For editing pages it's got two main problems for me.
1 - You can't change the width or height of the editor, its really narrow and not very high. For authoring a page it feels like you are trying to do it through a tiny viewport. Is there a way to enlarge it of make it bigger? TinyMCE supports a full screen capability but its not implemented. See point 2 that its more usable if you use a narrow browser window.
2 - The tooltips are so annoying. If I'm editing copy and want to add a style I mouse up to the style menu and pass over the image menu and the tooltip pops up immediately and block the format menu - every time. Tooltips should have like 1 second delay before triggering at least and ideally you should be able to turn them off. Is there a way to turn off tooltips or increase the pop-up delay? If the window was a bit wider then the toolbar wouldn't wrap - this whole layout really needs looking at - just widen the window enough to show the toolbar on one line. If you set the screen width to 1030px the design reflows and the toolbar is on one line. So workaround is to narrow the browser.
NOTE there are shorcut keys as the editor is based on Tiny MCE it supports it's shortcut keys these are never mentioned anywhere in Shopify help and provide a workaround for the tooltip issue.
Its based on Tiny MCE and I'm pretty sure you can modify its configuration
Hello! DId you ever figure this out? I'd love to have a better Page Rich Text Editor, but am not a coder.
