Is this email scam?

Hello,

I recently received an email from address "shopifycompliancesection" stating that my store has been temporarily paused due to a review of my account activity. (which I haven’t checked my store frequently)

After responding to the email, I received another message warning that if the issue is not resolved within a certain timeframe, my store may face permanent deactivation. The email also included a link to a Telegram chat.

I tried Google for this email address online but couldn’t find any information. Although I highly suspicious this is scam, I just want to confirm it if this is indeed a scam.

This definitely sounds like a scam. Shopify wouldn’t ask you to resolve compliance issues through Telegram, and that email address looks suspicious. Official Shopify emails always come from @shopify.com or @shopifyemail.com—never random addresses.

To be safe, log in to your Shopify admin directly (not through any email links) and check for official notifications. If you’re still unsure, reach out to Shopify Support through their official website. Avoid clicking any links or sharing personal info.

This sounds like a scam. Shopify will never ask you to communicate through Telegram or send official compliance notices from a vague email like "shopifycompliancesection". I’d recommend not clicking any links or responding further; instead, log into your Shopify admin to check for any legitimate notifications. Then, report the email by forwarding it to safety@shopify.com.
