All things Shopify and commerce
Hey guys, I'm using starshippit to calculate and send products online, but I'm running into a big issues as the calculation is completely wrong and under charging my customers due to lack of product dimensions.
Some of my products are quite long and light so when shipping is calculated by weight only it under chargers the customer.
I've tried calculating the volume weight as I've seen on other posts but that still doesn't do it. Because it doesn't know the actual size.
For example any packaged larger than 100cm Australia Post won't take it, so I'd have to go with a different provider like Startrak... if I put volume weight it will still suggest AusPost.
I really don't understand why the biggest e-commerce platform in the world doesn't have product dimensions as a standard for shipping.
have a look at the 2 example screenshots below on starshippit, when you add package dimensions...
I've contacted Shopify support and all I've heard was, you have to contact starshippit because we don't have access to their system. But their system world perfectly fine if you send the measurements to them, as it used to work on my old wooocommerce website.
All ecommerce platforms have product dimensions on it, why Shopify doesn't?
I don't need another app in my life to make somthing that should be really basic and it should be part of Shopify as all the other ecommerce platforms. Plus we already pay membership to Starshippit for many years, we are not keen to switch to a different provider... Thanks but no thanks...
This should be a problem addressed by SHOPIFY not 3rd party apps.
