All things Shopify and commerce
I’ve run into a problem connecting Facebook and Instagram accounts to two Shopify stores. Here's a summary of the situation:
I initially launched Store 1 and successfully set up Facebook and Instagram integrations (including the pixel). However, Store 1 was deactivated after I tried switching the billing card.
While waiting for reactivation, I created Store 2, using the same Facebook and Instagram accounts and pixel as Store 1. Everything worked fine with Store 2.
Later, Store 1 was reactivated, and I decided to expand to another country. I created new Facebook and Instagram accounts for Store 1 and added them to the same Business Manager account managing Store 2’s accounts.
When connecting the new accounts for Store 1, I received this error:
"Your shop setup couldn’t be completed, but you can run ads on Facebook and Instagram. Your catalog has been successfully connected, but your shop setup failed. If the problem persists, try to submit for review manually."
After making changes based on Facebook support’s advice, Store 2 also became affected. I fixed some catalog issues and successfully removed the message:
"This page and Instagram account are assigned to another Shopify store."
However, I now receive a new error message:
"You have tried too many times. Please try again in 24 hours."
I had active ads running for Store 2, but since some of the catalogs were deleted, those ads were paused. Although I wasn’t running ads connected to any catalog, I now have to manually restart the live ads connected to Store 2 every time they stop. This has been very frustrating and disruptive.
Question:
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue? How did you resolve it? Facebook support says they will follow up within 24 hours, but the error persists. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
