Local pick up option does not work when a customer is logged in

Checkout works fine when you are not logged in and just a guest. You can select shipping, local delivery and pick up at store.

When you log in the options are visible but only as tick boxes. The order has to be shipped and there is no way to select local pick up.

Any ideas?
