All things Shopify and commerce
Hi i was wondering if someone can give me some advice on my store, www.ocean10media.shop - we are a UK based authorized dealer of DJI camera drones that are sold just below RRP (to hopefully generate some more demand). Right now all my traffic comes from google ads with refined searches and keywords for the products I sell so they should have a fairly high intent to buy. Right now traffic is still below 100 sessions per day but I would have thought after a week of this I would have made one sale. Selling these on eBay I sold 6 in two days. The store is only two weeks old however so I still have faith, just wondering if anyone has some advice. Thanks
Hey - might be a bit too personal to answer directly, but how much are you paying for Google Ads? Are you at least getting highly engaged visitors from those ad clicks or are they bouncing quickly? And what are you using to track your ROI and other related metrics for ad spend? I'd focus on getting some of that data tracking with benchmarks to determine if Google Ads is really working for you. Happy to help if you need any advice!
Hi thanks for getting back to me on this, not too personal at all. I currently spend £25 per day on shopping ads with the bids for my kewords being between £1.1 -£1.60. I am not actually sure what my bounce rate is. Could you suggest some software i could use to track this? ive heard google clarity is good, my strore is also linked with google analytics so maybe that would help? any software you can suggest to see what people on my store are doing would be great. Thanks
You can definitely use Google Analytics to get deeper insights. At our company, we find that the reporting within Google Ads is skewed, so we actually pull Google Ads spend and combine it with Google Analytics engaged page views to see how much it's actually costing us to get engaged visitors to the site. From there, you'll be able to see which ads are driving higher engagement (aka higher time on the site or more clicks through pages) and continue to fine-tune your ad spend to focus on the ads and messaging that works.
Ok thanks - do you set up google analytics through shopify?
Shopify Help Center has an article that could help with next steps https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/reports-and-analytics/google-analytics/google-analytics-setup Feel free to reach out to me if there's anything else I might be able to help with!
i have one shopping campiagn set up with all my different products set up into different ad groups. The budget is around £27 per day but the CPC has gone down dramatically in the last few days. Originally it was bidding around £1.40 which is where i would want it to be to remain competitive for the search terms because they sit around £.8 - 1.80. now mine is bidding around £0.2 per click. I am on a maximise click bid strategy. is this a bad thing? i have refined my search terms a lot by adding anything not relevant to the negative terms.
thanks for your help, i will try that
