low conversion rate after nearly week 3 of launch and 1 week of ads

Hi there,

My brand amaraworldwide.com gets visitors and great engagement/praise on social media however conversion is very low. Is this normal for a new brand? My brother helped model our initial launch product and has a wide audience (although not my target) that has helped somewhat with making a start.

Upon looking at my website, is there anything that might jump out at you that could be contributing to this low rate?

Aware I need to get the brand on google, trustpilot etc and build credibility, in particularly through influencer marketing, however I am grateful for any views/opinions.

Many thanks

Ben

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to boost the conversion rate. I have viewed your site and hope our expertise can help you.

Based on our experience it's common for new brands to experience low conversion rates despite high engagement and praise on social media. This can often be attributed to several factors, including a need for brand recognition and trust among potential customers. Visitors may need more interaction with your site and to acknowledge more about your brand before feeling comfortable making a purchase.

In this case, I would suggest adding more information to the home page since this would be helpful to attract customers’ interest and spend more time understanding your brand. To enhance your conversion rate, consider optimizing your website's user experience by improving navigation. You can start by ensuring product pages are informative and visually appealing.

Additionally, since you mentioned influencer marketing, leveraging tools like our Ako marketing app can significantly streamline your efforts in reaching the right audience and converting them into customers. It provide the Instagram Automation feature, which helps stores automatically send a discount code and links directly to the website whenever customers leave a comment in the Instagram comment section. This function could be effective if you combine with influencer marketing.

For checking the conversion performance, the app provides the CRM Dashboard to collect valuable insights and campaign performance, this will help you decide how to allocate resources to the campaigns that generate a higher conversion rate. By utilizing the Ako Marketing Funnel, you can effectively retarget visitors at different stages of their journey, ultimately guiding them toward making a purchase and boosting your conversion rate.

Hey @BB1995,

Firstly, welcome to the Shopify Community! We are happy to have you here!

I am sure other community members can jump in with more specifics, but I wanted to say that is pretty normal for a new brand that wasn't well known to begin with (ex. not something an already famous person has launched, or that had a huge build up prior to launch).

It can take customers several visits to a new website before they purchase, especially a more expensive purchase. Speaking from my own love of online shopping, I might visit a website 4 or 5 times before buying something even if I have already purchase from them. Think of it like going into a shop and just looking around without buying something. Totally normal!

So don't be discouraged. Just keep at it, and continue to put your brand out there!

thank you Jacqui for taking the time to give your views, its much appreciated. Definitely need to stay patient, whilst keeping at it. I am doing it all alone and don't have any friends that run shopify stores so great there is a community here that has good experience and advice!

Hi Ben

Welcome to the community. First, every start is hard, but at the core, you have a good product and I am sure sales will come. So just be patient and work to improve the store bit by bit.

You are using a free theme, and it is fine to start, it is minimal and clean, and you do have one product, but think how many stores are using the same theme.

Try to adjust some parts, and you may aim to look minimalistic but I think you need a lot more info on the product page and a better display of important features. Check "Technical details" on this page for example https://www.oris.ch/en-US/product/watch/aquis/new-aquis/01-400-7790-4185-Set

One of the first things I do check on stores is contact information. And for your site, I could just find an email in several places, but no phone, address, or business details. Not sure also about a pre-order, would you pre-order something you see for the first time, on a new store, and have no guarantee actually to receive it?  People also like sales more than lower prices 🙂  You could add 10% for pre-sale maybe and also maybe a New Year discount.

Now some details:

  • You have 3 social blocks on a page, too much, keep just one in the footer maybe
  • The announcement bar section is not useful on your site, you can hide it.
  • The video is good but over or below it you need a "Buy now" button to lead customers to a product page
  • The main button "Pre-order" or later "Add to cart" should be more dominant, outline one is almost invisible next to blue "Shop pay" button
  • The product page could use more sections, you could make a section for each "Design feature" you have. Just putting that in the text is not enough. Try to use image/text sections.

Wish you luck with your business and keep working on the store.

Kind regards

Hi Laza, this feedback is great here and I will definitely take your advice on board. Thank you! Do you have any specific theme suggestions (paid or free) and would you suggest hiring a partner to help with the site? Preorder is probably a big blocker too. Learning so much as I go but a fair few costly mistakes!

Check for example https://themes.shopify.com/themes/impact/styles/sound/preview it is great, with a lot of features but also important, it has a great product page. It really shows how to present the main features and think it could match your watch. Try it out on your store and see how it goes. Hiring a partner is also a good option, as you can get all-around help.

And it is ok to make mistakes, we all do, but it is important to learn from them. And even if we fail, remember to get up and keep going.

You already have a good plan with the brand,  building credibility, I think you will be fine.

Kind regards

thanks Laza, will definitely help adding new products in the new year. Would you still recommend the theme for just the one product as it stands and then including as much about the brand/lifestyle and features as possible to compensate for lack of products?

You can try to mimic the Impact theme product page and a bit of home. I mean, I like your minimal homepage with just video. But it could use maybe one more section (like rich text with a button). And for the product page try a few image/text sections and one icon maybe. With a bit larger titles for some features. It can work even without a paid theme. But also try to configure paid them and see a difference.

thank you! Sometimes it can be hard to navigate as a beginner as many people tell you different things. Would you recommend hiring a shopify partner to help?

Hi Akonhub, very insightful and kind of you to provide some thoughts on my website, thank you for that! Given the fact we want to give off more of a high end impression (we aren't luxury but are high quality and want to give off an element of exclusivity) what would your advice be here when we don't want to do any sales or significant discounts etc?
